A Summary of Chapter 6 (The Shoe Maker)

They went into the dark room upstairs of the wine shop. The room was locked and it was dark and dirty. That old man preferred the darkness to the brightness. The man in the room was making lady shoes. He looked really old and weak. When they arrived in the room, Mr. Defarge introduced Lorry and Manette to an old man. He asked some questions to the old man about the shoe he was making. Then it was Mr. Lorry’s turn. Mr. Lorry asked the old man some questions. He asked if the old man still remembered him or not. The old man said he didn’t remember anything at all. The old looked at Miss Manette and The old man found Manette’s hair similar to the hair he kept in the locket for years. He was wondering why it was really similar. He asked if she was the daughter of the prisoner. Then Miss. Manette told the old man that she was his real daughter. Later she prepared the journey of her father back to England to live a better life. They were traveling back to London by the horse carriage.
