A Summary of Chapter 3 (The Night Shadow: Mr. Lorry had a dream on the way to Dover) 

On the way back to London, Jerry thought about Mr. Lorry’s reply. He didn’t understand the meaning of the reply Lorry gave to him. Time and time again, he could not work out the meaning of the reply Mr. Lorry gave to him. In the mail coach, Mr. Lorry was sleeping and dreaming about a lot of faces. He then began to ask the questions to those strange faces. He asked how long it would be buried. Those faces replied that it would be buried for 18 years. He asked the same question again and again but he still to the same answer from those faces.  In the dream he went on asking and asking the same question and searching for the answer. Eventually, he still got the same reply from those faces. When he was waken up one of the passengers who traveled with him, he shouted by saying that it was going to be buried alive for almost 18 years. He then said to himself it was too long. He couldn't wait for that long time.
