A Summary of Chapter 4 (The Preparation: Lorry and Manette were prepared to look for the father in Paris)

Mr. Lorry now arrived in Dover safe and sound and stayed at the hotel. He also reserved a room for a young lady, Miss Manette, who would arrive later in the evening. Miss Manette came from London with her friend Miss Pross. Miss Pross was older than Manette. Miss Manette got a letter from the Bank telling her that she was to get some property from her father who died long time ago. She was supposed to accompany Mr. Lorry to Paris, the capital city of France. Miss Mannette wanted the details of the odd business from Mr. Lorry. Then he told the story of her father. In reality, her father was still alive. He didn’t die as Miss Manette thought. He just disappeared when she was born and her mother suffered a lot pain and went searching for him until she was dead. Actually her parents had no any property for her to get from. Her father was found alive and was almost a wreck presently. He was living in the house of an old servant in one of the wine shops in Paris. Mr. Lorry told Manette that they were supposed to get him and restore him to life and live a happy life. When hearing this story, Miss Manette felt really shocked and fainted on the chair. Suddenly while the two of them were talking, an old woman who was a friend of Miss Manette came in. She had red hair and looked old. She came in in order  to  stop Mr. Lorry from continuing telling the story to Manette.  Mr. Lorry then tried to comfort Miss Manette and later walked away. They were prepared to go to Paris to look for the father. Then the journey began.
